The library is cool and dim, with warm wood panelling.  There are large overstuffed chairs here and there, with lamps providing plenty of light beside them.

    Morgan Llywelyn is an excellent storyteller, first and foremost.  Her writings breath life into traditional Irish legends such as Finn MacCool and Brian Boru.  She keeps the magic of the original legends while providing a deep, mesmerizing tale.

     Anne McCaffrey has written the immensely popular Pern series, which turns 30 years old this year.  In addition, she writes several other Sci-fi series, and has a new series starting set in a different world from any she has previously dealt with.

Mercedes Lackey
    The Heralds of Valdemar -- what else needs to be said?  :)  She also collaborated with several other authors to produce the Serrated Edge series, an urban fantasy series involing elves in modern times.
